If you don't have much to spend on a swap, find a DOHC ZC for it. You won't be the fastest thing in the world, but it will be a little quicker.
Keep the racing on the track, now go search the archives.

I'm glad you are putting the question like this.
Go to google and find out a local SCCA organization for your area.
Start visiting their Autocross/ Solo II events. Start participating in them - this will teach you all you need to know about what to expect from your car in the extreme situations (and you won't be runing a risk of smashing your car into a curb/lightpole/another car).
Autocross is the cheapest kind of GOOD racing that will teach you a lot about taking hard turns, fast braking and other vital stuff.
A friend of mine told me once he can't afford $25 an event for autocross. After he crashed his car on the same onramp TWICE during one month, I told him he can't afford NOT TO go to autocross, since he had to pay much more in the repairs.
Don't just go out and get the best engine, without being able to back it with good driving skill.
ps. After getting the car, you'l feel how good it is, and you'll understand that you can do some amazing stuff with it. After that you'll become cocky, and start driving too carelessly, just because you know that the car lets you get out of some crazy situations. Then you'll have a couple close calls, hopefuly nothing bad, that will make you change the way you think. That's how it was with me anyways. Hope you do better.

this is great organization for racing; the street IS NOT.

I think closest place to you would be Englishtown, but check yourself.
Another thing - put a fuel pump cut-off kill switch into your car as a first project, right after you get the car. That will hopefully let you keep your car from being stolen.
Just search the forum for the how to.

from what little i know, ad believe me that's very little, the si is heavier than the hf. if you're going to be racing, that's your best bet. also the ZC is a very good engine. it does lack some power, but i've read that they are perfect for boost apllications, so if you're leaning towards boost, ZC's are nice. also, if you're leaning towards nitrous, do not believe the hype. nitrous is not gonna kill your engine, "IF" it is tuned properly. if you have the means for another engine off the bat, get the swap and work on it yourself as much as you can, til you blow out the original or tinker with that one too and blow it. make sure you properly tune and prepare your swap before it goes in. gaskets, water pump, belts (especially the timing), clutch, all the goodies. it'll save you money in the long run and it'll give you piece of mind knowing it's taken care of. happy rexing, and welcome to your addiction. if you decide it isn't for you, give me a holler. no distance is to far for a good rex, IMHO.
good question but i think you should take it easy........ got ur temps?...... what type of situations have u been in? secondly i think a rex si is plenty fast for a new driver to start with..........an no im not some 45 year old guy im 16 just about like you but i know what i need and dont need.......rex si is plentyyyyyyy fast enough for a brand new driver on there own. dont mean to make you mad but im bein honest. im not sayin u got to drive like an old lady but im a firm believer that there is a time and place for stuff and your not old enough.
who told you i cannot drive for 1 and don't worry about the si i know wat i want to race with and trust me i bet that when i do get everything i could beat you because i just love when people try to dicourage me and i am tired of it so you know wat i am gonna do is prove you all worng. and oh you are not a firm driver because i know grown men who have skill upon skills and they still say they not good driver so get it outta your head that you are good
and if you think a si is too fast for me wat are you racing with.
And what are you trying to say i don't know wat i need from wat i don't i get and earn wat i want on my own so leave me alone i ask no one i get it fair and legally so just buzz off if you not gonna try to help me

Thank you guys that posted something positive and i will check out wat ya'll told me cause i would kinda like to know that me and my car is safe than for my parents to be putting me into a confin for racing so i will try and learn everything i can before i get really serious and on the road
I'm only 15 also, I've had looked for a crx for 1 1/2 years, I found a 1990 DX for $500, bought that, fixed the wiring with in 2 hours of receving the distributor I needed, and had it running that day, and then I just kept buying parts, nitrous kit, rims, and other performance parts, from the little driving I have already done with my permit I ended up blowing up my d15b2 converted to MPFI with a chipped ecu reving it to 8000rpm + by accident, now I am looking at buying an 1991 integra from someone I know for really cheap and swaping in the b18. the 'racing' scene is fun, and even though I am only 15 also, I have already learned it costs alot and you have to really know what you are doing. I hope my first motor swap turns out ok
so can i see how your car looks dohdoh420
i would really appreciated if you showed me

He's not trying to bring you down. He's trying to make sure that you don't kill yourself with too powerful a car. Remember that these cars weigh 2000lb's and it really doesn't take THAT much power to make them really quick.
I say get the si, get the usual i/h/e and then go have fun with it and save up for a good swap or some forced induction.
The first thing I think you should get after you get your car is a helm manual. That way you'll be able to know your car inside and out easily.

Yeah. He did not try to bring you down, just an honest opinion. I'd thank him for that.
Seriously - if you were driving some regular car, a stock crx SI feels like it's got wings.
I know you want the best, well - get the best, but a stoc kSI will be quite fine for quite a while. Get used to it, and then you'll appreciate your next upgrade more.

this wont exactly answer your race questions.. but....
spend time, find an HF. I prefer the later models, but the earlier ones weigh less. Fix it up. Do the suspension first. Tune it up etc. Enjoy the gas mileage. When you've done all of that if you still want more power, do some homework decide what type of racing, drag or track etc and drop in the appropriate engine trans.
I have an HF I bought new in 91. This is sorta my track except I probably won't do the engine because the gas mileage is so nice and I have other cars and bikes WRX and R1 that address my performance needs.. and when I started looking into what I really wanted it turned out to be a turbo'd DART motor and by the time I would have had that dropped in I could put a down payment on a 06 Z06...
anyway of all the cars I have had, including a new 98 M3 I think I luv my CRX at least equal to all of them. A great car. My biggest complaint about the CRX is that Honda doesn't make it anymore.

CRX for the first car of a 16 year old who intends to race...great choice.
[puts one more VIN in the totaled column]
I say start with a plain hatchback...make your mistakes there. You can insist you are different, better then all our experiences have taught us, but you're not. Whether its street racing or just tearing up a back road, your inexperience will catch up with you without proper training.
I agree with the suggestion to start autoxing. Better yet...wait six months when you're a good driver and you've got some go fast goodies. Then go autox...when the silver haired old man in the stock hatchback beats you by a solid 3 seconds...you might realize you've got a long way to go. And you'll never stop learning.
