Default For all,Feel free to share !!!!

All who have or have had experience with a D16 (Z6),(Y8).
What kind of HP(@ torque) and time slips, have you produced with this motor?Any info is welcome! Examples mods, weight,HP,Torque, time slips, gearing, wheels & tires,etc... I'm not looking to be a drag king. Just trying to find out what kind of performance I could get from a D16.Shooting for 14's to 13's times. Is that a achievable goal with a D16?
P.S. I know alot of people are going to tell me to go with a B16 but, I'm looking at the D16 right know. But feel free to add your info as listed above on a B16 as well.

yep, ur right i am going to tell you to go with a b16 for 14's. if you want more than that look to sink at least 2 grand more into a b16 OR get a frankenstein. to this day i will never understand why ppl build single cams. i know they are cheep, but geez we all know that this is an expensive hobby.

You could be in the 14's with a z6 in a crx. 6-8 psi you could easily be in the 14's. I'm piecing together a turbo for my z6 in my crx right now. We'll see what it runs after I get it on.

I'm using the D16A6 because in the class that I autocross, I have to keep the stock motor... There are guys running in CSP though who are getting 160HP from the D16a6....

Ain't nothin wrong with the SOHC. It's got what, a 90mm stroke? It's not gonna rev as high as a B-series so the peak numbers are always lower, but you can get good power throughout the rev range.

i was running high 14's with a mini me setup in my 92 hatch, w/ a stripped car. In a rex, slap a y8 on you block, with an si or dx tranny and z6 ecu, you should be high 14's easy

The D16 is a great motor.. bullet proof IMO. If you build it right, it can be very rewarding. While im not a big fan of the mini me setup (had lots of problems with mine and felt a little sluggish) if you tune it right, im sure youll be able to squeeze a good amount of power out of it.. I bought another d16a.. milled head, port polish.. it runs really strong.. and i expect to run even stronger when i build the bottom end and slap on a turbo.. The main difference i have had between a b16 and a d16 is the top end.. after 6000rpm the b16 pulls like no tomorrow..
