Default how can i make the a/c colder?

got a 93 si that was converted to r134 and its just not cold enough. everything was done right and the freon level is perfect...blah blah blah...anyway....is there anything that i can do to make the a/c colder than stock? maybe a better condensor fan? maybe use an integra condensor(bigger)? maybe a compressor from a differant make? maybe switch to r12? i live in florida and its just too hot for this. any ideas will be appriciated.

switching back to r12 will be difficult unless you have a heating and cooling buddy. r12 and r22 (r22 is stationary freon, houses, window units etc) are federally regulated now, you can ONLY buy r134a over the counter without a permit.

Add a sprayer to the condenser.

Take it to an AC shop and have them check the charge to make sure it's charged properly.

i have r12 on my 92 si and i used a retrofit kit to make it r134a and all that bullshit is, is different fittings and the r134 coolant....now my a/c dont ******* work at all and its bullshit....so i would say to take off those gay *** 134 fittingas and drain the 134 and take it to a shop that does r12 and get them to refill it back with r12 so that should make it cooler

those r134a conversion kits are a scam. the regular person doesnt have the ability and equipment to do it.

use whatever your car is made for. if you still want r134a, take it to a shop.

Why not? I don't quite understand A/C but I do know for a fact helping the condenser chill will also give you colder A/C. The A/C in my vehicle (2000 Civic)has never been that strong from the begining. I do know that my A/C gets super cold whenever the condenser gets wet. Adding a sprayer would give you this effect anytime.

How do you do it? Improvise.

actually when i got the car it had no a/c parts. i had a complete kit for r134 so i put that in. the only thing was the lines that go inside the car were differant so i had some new tips welded on. so the whole thing is r134 except the part under the dash. the charge is perfect. i did it myself, i got it vacuumed and oiled..ect and the charge is fine. i think all honda a/c isnt that great.

Putting water on the condenser will only help in further subcooling the refrigerant in it. If you've got the proper charge in your system and your condenser is getting enough air passed through it to desuperheat and then condense the refrigerant some subcooling will take place and things will work just fine. As long as the guy has liquid refrigerant LEAVING the condenser, cooling it down even more won't do **** for making his evaporator coil colder. As long as the expansion valve is seeing a solid column of liquid refrigerant it's going to be doing it's job.
The guy did a retrofit on his R12 system. He's got components in there that were designed to work with R12 trying to do the same job with 134A. It's not going to be as efficient.
Think of a gasoline engine running off diesel fuel. Will it work? Probably. Will it work as well as it would if it were running on gasoline? Hell no. Maybe it's not THAT drastic but you get the point.
And no, I didn't just pull all that AC knowledge out of my *** or google. Been doing this for a long time now.

::EDIT::
He said the whole system is 134 EXCEPT the part under the dash. Well hell, that's the evap and EXPANSION VALVE. Those are the parts that make the air cold. Get an evap and an expansion valve for a honda 134A system and you'll be golden.

What's the temp coming out of the vents? Just stick a thermometer in there to find out.

You may have an issue with the temp control cable. It may not be set correct and its blending heat with your a/c. Causing you to think its not cooling.

Set it to:

Max

Recirc

Leave it running with a meat thermo stuck in the center vent (all windows shut obviously)......any hotter than 45 degrees?

relays shouldn't be needed. All your electrical is fine. You just need to get the evap and the expansion valve for the 134A system.

If you retrofitted to 134 and it was done correctly then you shouldn't have a problem cooling. I'd start checking the system to make sure everythign is fine. I lie in PHX, and my 134 system blows plenty cold. Just remember that your AC can only do so much when its blazingly hot outside.
