So my car broke down last night.

I was driving, pressing on the gas pedal after an exit and the car just completely stopped. So I pull over, and try to the start the car. I mean, all the lights work and the car trys to crank but I feels like it's not getting gas to ignite.

What could it be? I tried turning the ignition while putting opening the throttle all the way and that seems to get it to sputter and idle at about 2-3 rpms...but my foot has to be on the pedal to keep the car alive. When I let off, it immediately dies.

What do you guys think it could be? I have an 87 CRX, oldie but goodie.

if you know you have spark and your timing is right.. then i would check the injectors with a noid light and work your way back could be the fuel pump relay goin out on you.. try tapping it while starting see if that helps..
