Default Solved my cooling nightmare + i'm a jackass

so after i swaped my 1.6 for a 1.8 block (lsvtec y0) my **** started over heating and i tried just about everything to fix it

noticed today that i had my fan wired backwards when i put it back in

SO MAKE SURE your fan is right b/c its easy and makes all the difference in the world. i thought i had a blown headgasket for sure lol

On the other hand my cooling system is great now! super fresh coolant, flush, new radiator, pump, t-belt, all got done in my efforts. I even bypassed the coolant going to the IM (MUCH cooler intake temps everyone should do this!)

This went on for a week and drove me insane. all because of two little wires! has anyone else done this before or am i just a fricking jaskass?

runs like 100x times better

although i didn't bypass the coolant system to the intake manifold i jump the fan to constantly stay on

**** like this happens to the best of us.

It happened to me and I could not figure out why my **** was heating up when I was moving and when I come to a stop it would cool down.

With the car on, I was looking under the hood.....but for some reason there was alot of hot air kept blowing at my legs. Put my hand infront of my I/C and I was like WTF, how is hot air being pushed forward.

So I reliazed my error and fliped the wires and bammm....Car was normal again.

I just wired mine up and mounted my IC. It is wired up right but with the IC blocking 95% of the high speed air comin through the air damn it is the same as it was before with a half size and no fan

How did you figure it's the same as the half size and no fan?? True the I/C blocks most of the wind but thats what the fan is for...to pull it.

If you have a good I/C then the core of it will allow sufficiet air to come thru to cool your Rad.

the line that goes into the head through the intake manifold? doesn't that allow the coolant to go through the head and cool the head? maybe i'm wrong, or thinking of something different.

they basically offset eachother is what I meant. My intercooler is like the exact size of my air dam. It just runs about the same temp on the highway, I don`t think the 10" fan can keep up with the speed
