Clutch safety switch
I have a 93 Civic DX hatch. The car had an auto-manual conversion before I bought it. The car is able to start without pressing the clutch pedal. Not too much of a problem, but I almost started it while in gear today. How do I add or connect a clutch safety switch, where do I find one, and how much?
What would happen if I started it while in gear? Damage to the starter?

Damage to what ever was in the way. Honda's start very easy in 1st gear. Or for that matter for even more excitement try reverse either way you turn off the ignition avoiding the disaster or become the disaster. The clutch switch is found on the top of the pedal assembly and is easily wired into the ignition start signal wire (find a schematic and identify by test light). I do not have the 93 Helms manual as i only ordered it monday. As soon as I get it I'll send you a PDF of the page with all the details.
