Default question abt a front lip from a 84-87 si ? and eg side skirt question

alright well i just bought this front lip from a older model before 88 and it came off from an si ...looks like a 86 or something and it has a front lip factory. bought from the junkyard for 10 bucks so fine and got home and test fit for my rear bumper and it lines real nice and good. so i want to put this lip on the rear of my bumper since i already have the 91 si lip in the front...but my one question is how can i still keep my rear mud flaps when i put on the lip on ? cut out some hole on the mudflap or something for a clean look?

Also i have another question ...i know a ek side skirt will fit with some trimming and mods...but i want to fit on a eg side skirt from a hatchback. will it work with some triming and work with my front mud flap ?

plus remember i still want to keep all my mud flaps

so your saying the front lip off a earlier crx will fit on the rear bumper? Do you know what u have to modify for the side skirts? Sorry i cant help u trying to figure it out to. Was going to try ek side skirts with home depot lip or 99 si lip heard they fit. Ive got a 90 si wont a bigger lip on the front though. Just wont to figure out what i have to modify before i try it out

Mine isn't that clean. It had a rust spot about the size of your fist right in front of the rear tire on the passenger side. It was under the car though, so you couldn't see it. I fixed it, I just hope my patch will keep it in check before I gather money for new panels and paint.

I don't know if the eg or ek look better. I think its mostly personal preference. For me, I didn't really care, and my parents happened to get me some from an eg for christmas, so that's what I have.

I should try to get better pics. You can't even see the difference that it made in the cars appearance in the pics. In person, it does make a difference. In the pictures it doesn't seem like the skirts add much of a lip, but they do actually extend downwards more than it looks like they do.

If I wash my car this week(end) and its sunny I'll try to snap more/better pics.

thats what my front lip looks like but
i wish i had side skirts
it looks like your side skirts are a lil faded
you should go buy some of that trim paint
and re-paint them they will look good like your front and back bumper

actually, they aren't that faded. It just looks that way because the rest of my trim is painted with krylon. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't paint my trim.

Nice car.

Looks good. I want to do the EG side skirts/a custom rear lip to my hatch too, but I can't seem to source either.

Thanks man ...it really took me a while to find those side skirts and that 87 civic si front lip. the 87 front lip custom to be rear lip was really easy to do and also the side skirts took a while to get it right.

alright guys sorry to make you guys wait to long for me to tell u how to do it

i suck at explaining ...so bear with me please.
1st thing i did was measure how long it needs to match the bottom part of the body then i marked it, then cut on the front side of the skirt. ( this part is hard to explain) 2nd thing i did was cut the part where the skirt goes under the car to match to have it a stock looking. then lastly i drill holes for screws to go in the foactory spots on the skirt.

Are u talking about on top of the ss where in goes inward i glanced at my brothers ss hes got an ek it didnt look like they went in that far i gonna take a better look at it tomorrow Does anyone have pics or now how much they cut off I hear about 2 inches in the front dont know about the top or where u are talking about and are they sturdy I was thinking about doing home depot lip with ek ss and maybe 87 si front lip on the back Any how tos on the 87 si front lip on the back was u saying the 90 si lips better on the back will it fit if so i will just take my si lip off and put it on the back with the home depot lip on the front if so do u have to heat it up or anything or just screw it in
