Vtec through VAFC on Non Vtec ECU
yes but why? vtec is controled my more than just an electrical source. it also goes off the knock sensor and oil pressure. if either is not up to par vtec is disengaged by the ecu to prevent you from messing up the motor. just make it easy on yourself and upgrade to a obd1 setup. all you would need is a p28 ecu, obd0-obd1 jumper harness, 92-00 civic injectors and the matching injector clips. ( you will have to remove the injector resistor box tho. )
A P28 does not read for Knock sensor. The only reason i am putting a D15 vtec motor in the car is so i can rebuild my 1.5 non vtec original motor. I am building a car for honda challenge H5, and i dont want to wire up 4 injectors or anything. I just need something in the car so its not sitting while i rebuild the stock motor.
oh ur the kat that painted ur ride black and white, came out good by the way.
just plop the motor in there then rather than spending time wiring it up for vtec. and thanx for pointing out my mistake for the knock.
