Are you talking about the cabin filter, cause it is under the glove box compartment.
Are you talking about the cabin filter, cause it is under the glove box compartment.
If thats what you talking about, I just replaced mines recently and its pretty easy to do. And while you at it you might as well clean out the blower next to it.
Use this at your own risk and it should cover the basics of the work.
Before you do any work make sure you disconnect the battery because you are going to be working very close to the airbag. And make sure you have the correct activation code for your stereo before disconnecting the battery.
1. Remove the passenger's side dashboard end panel
2. Remove the passenger's side lower trim retaining screws (2 buttom screws, 1 on each side inside the dashboard end panel) (Remove the last screw under the center cluster)
3. Pry the button of the panel until the clips are disengaged and remove the panel
4. Remove the screws along the buttom edge of the glove box assembly.
5. Open the glove box and use a small, taped screwdriver to pry out the screw covers, then remove the screw at each top side and the two in the center.
6. Push the two glove box door hinges toward each other to disengage the clips in the dashboard, the pull the glove box assembly down and out. Note: Once the glove box is partway out of the dashboard, disconnect the electrical connector for the glove box light.
7. Then remove the three screws and the glove box reinforcement panel.
8. Release the snap at the buttom, then remove the filter lid.
9. Slide the filters out from the filter carriers, and then clean the carriers and insert the new filter. Note: I used compressed air and it seems to work well in that small space. It blew everything out and into the fan blower which I would also recommend you clean out as well.
9. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure and don't forget to install the electrical connector for the glove box light.
PS. To remove the fan blower motor, disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor and remove the three retaining screws and then remove the blower. Installation is reverse.
