The Honda Day event went very well. The only thing issue about the day was the heat being that it was 100+ degrees throughout the day. Here is the footage from the event. The racers still came out and ran their cars even though the intense weather conditions and that is was it was all about. Much respect to all that were there.

howcome Cunha was running slower than he usually does? stock block again maybe?

I can't really speak for him. However, I think all racers were having issues that day with the extreme heat. I know one person who sat in their car and the car showed that the temperature outside was 108 degrees. I can definitely say that I saw many cars that were .5 to an entire second slower than their normal times. It was just too hot.

 

that day was not a good judge for those cars performance especially the boosted ones! Heat SUCKS! lol fall is hte best time to run!

Great coverage as always. Cunhas car was just spinning way to much. He kept turning the boost down and the car would run the same number. You can hear him spinning through 2nd and 3rd. The car does have stock wires and distributor, just a msd coil but it did make 600+ last year with a completely stock igniton.

 

... the high horsepower cars were having trouble all day because of the heat and the track not being prepped all that great... best run if the day out of the power added class was 11.0... sucked but the heat saturday was definitely extreme... and spinning down the track every run didnt help either

Yeah, that hatch actually belongs to a friend of mine and it runs pretty well also. Best time was 13.2@99 mph all motor with full interior and all.
