LS tranny upgrade? questions and views?
So i been planning on upgrading Clutch and flywheel. Im alil stomp on how light i should go on the flywheel. Also this is for daily driving. So i'm thinking of trying the Stage 1 exedy organic clutch.
what would you do ,or have tryed in the past for an upgrade of this scale .

fidanza 8lb is not that hard to drive..i drove and action 6 puck and said flywheel and its easy...revs fall real fast...
go w/ a 12lb and you should be alright...or just stock...

the lighter your flywheel is the more inertia you lose between shifts meaning the harder your car jerks when you engage the clutch. I've got an exedy ceramettalic clutch and an ACT prolight flywheel. I havent got a chance to try it out cuz my car doesnt have an engine or tranny in it
but i had a nice long conversation with the guy at the shop and the ACT was his recommendation for the ceramettalic.

You could take your stock flywheel to a machine shop and have them shave some weight off. Alot cheaper and just as good IMO. Alot of advantages/disadvantages to lighter flywheel, just do some research.
And BTW... "tryed" is actually, "tried".... Sorry to be a spelling ****... Just an English major at work... haha... DC's rule!!!

i have exedy street/strip organic clutch and act 12lb streetlite flywheel and couldn't be happier......
i wouldn't go any lighter on the flywheel though-- i have driven several hondas with lighter flywheels and didn't like it nearly as much..

I have a 7.5 Fidanza flywheel with an Exedy organic and my B18A has no drivability problems. I keep hearing how it is harder to drive, but the B18A has plenty of torque to keep from stalling, in fact, I hardly notice much difference when engaging the clutch. I guess I am just good at feathering it, haven't ever stalled it in fact. I love the way the lighter flywheel revs up faster and when you are ready to shift the next gear, the rpms come down faster so you can shift faster without grinding. I enjoy driving much more with this setup than stock.
