You can probably find a little power out of the PR3 due to the maps being for a 1.6L. You will have to do the tuning on a dyno to get the most power, anyone selling a premade chip is guessing at your setup and the needs of the engine.

With most stock cams, vtec around 5200-5600 is ok, with aftermarket cams you'll have to get on the dyno to see what works best.

some people just get a chip with a decent basemap and then tune an AFC or something for fine tuning. i.e. just getting the chip to set up a redline, VTEC crossover, decent ignition timing and base fuel settings for a starting point, as well as to change ECU options like VTEC disabled under 20mph (although IMO this is a nice thing to have for traction reasons), speed limiter on JDM ECU's, VTEC coolant temp check, etc.

in that case i'd say get a chip with stock redline or even a bit lower since stock cams really don't make power to 8200rpm and the LS won't much care for revs that high as well, set VTEC for ~5500rpm and put GSR fuel and ignition maps into the PR3 ECU so basically you have a GSR ECU w/o butterfly valves.

but still the best option is to get it dyno tuned with crome or uberdata, in that order of preference. but the tuner himself (or herself, in all fairness) is much more important than the method of tuning.
