Dude, I can't believe you paid $440 for the pile of crap. While the pics were loading I was in shock that you got screwed like that. But when I saw the finished product I was very impressed. Did you do the paint job yourself and what was the overall condition of the car when you got it? Nice ride.

I am looking to get my car painted soon and I have a few questions... Where did you get the paintjob done / how much did it cost you / how is the quality?

the gauges were easy to put in, just get a 2 1/16th inch hole saw and drill right through it, it took like 2 minutes, seriously!
The car wasn't all sanded down and bondo'd when i bought it, it was totally stock with some faded red paint, and torn up seats, like so bad that metal would poke you when you were sitting in them.
I got the good ole paint job at Macco. it was only 255 dollars with tax because i took it in already sanded and bondo'd. I think it came out really nice. they even did the bumpers and stuff for me.
thanks for all the positive comments, i think there's only been like one "beater" remark but ohwell.
As for my plans on it, i'm a few days away from ordering a b16a swap, and i have the hook up on a b20 block. I'm going for allmotor 12's by the end of the summer, i'm thinking the b20vtech with some vtech cams, and built head, i should be there. thanks guys!

anyways..... it looks good.. I too was like damn.... that's a piece of dog dookie.. but wow... you made it look good.. kinda makes me wanna do something like that
when you cut those gauges in, did you hit the heater ducts? i had thought of doing the same thing, but was told that it would run into the ducts. do you have some better pictures of the gauges? i'm to much of a ***** to cut them in without seeing it up close first
anyway i love your ride! good luck with the b20vtec

Glad to see you saw the "car within the car".. .. not many people can apreciate a deal when they see it. For those of us that can envision a finished product really apreciate what you've done to it. My brother and I have never paid more then $1000 for any car... they are all like the "junkers" that everyone sees. If things are always so black and white.. good or bad... then that shows a lack of creativity. $440 is a steal.. and you did a great job with it.
thanks again guys. on the gauges, i didn't hit any heater vents or duct, it's totally open behind the plastic of the dash it self. i'll take some pictures tommorrow in the daylight with the gauges in and out to give you an idea. I'm totally happy with my car, Like it's been said, it was dirt cheap and it runs fine, now it looks great, and you cant imagine how well it handles with all the strutbars, tiebar, coilovers, and some new sticky tires.
