Default has anyone heard of a 4WD civic?

i have heard, here and there, and on the red on the web a while ago about a production 4WD civic....has anyone heard of this or can confirm it?

also, i'd like to know the diffrences between a civic and a reverb (since they don't seem that diffrent at all, only a lip kit and a sound system) and also whats extra on the civic Special Edition

4WD Civic came in some rare 88-91 Wagons. My friend used to have one, it was a lot of fun

if you're looking into this for any other reasons than hauling stuff around and very light off-roading, don't waste your time, the drivetrain CANNOT handle any more power than stock. I know, because I destroyed the transmission beyond all recognition, not to mention I scared the **** outta everyone around me in rush hour traffic..... hehehe it was mean for a good 2 hours though.

Use a CRV motor and drivetrain

no im just looking this up because i heard of it and found it strange that a honda car (CAR not SUV or SUT or VAN for that matter) had this....its quite interesting, but if you say "use a cr-v motor and drivetrain" if the cr-v motor is mounted with a b-series trans-axle tranny, will it make it FWD? what about the S2000 F something motor? will that motor, mounted to an accord tranny become a FWD also?

also, any more of the answers to my earlier questions?

the presence of a transfer case on the transaxle determines if it is 4wd or not. The motor only has one function.....to provide power and torque.

I guess if you have enough money, but that's not what he was saying. The s2000 motor is not gonna bolt up to an Accord tranny because the tranny is FWD, while the motor is made for RWD.

with enough $$$$ anything is possible, but as the previous poster has pointed out, an s2000 engine is not built for a FWD tranny, nor does Honda make anything that will swap with it yet, that I know of. B-series motors are totally different beasts. As I've already stated if you're even going to try something like this, use the CRV drivetrain.....it's already there, it works, less muss, less fuss. All you'd have to do would be customize the rear end to bolt up to your whatever, cut a hump down the middle of your whatever for the driveshaft, and then get some custom mounts so it all fits under the hood. Shouldn't cost you much more than 10K when all is said and done, but for that price you could probably get a used CRV and slap a turbo on it.
