Default PCV system

I know alot about my d15B7 engine and how it functions and how the PCV system works by scavenging blow-by fumes from the crank case. What I don't understand is how the blow-by fumes work their way into the intake manifold. Where is the connection to the crankcase? Both the tube and the PCV valve on the end of it seem to be connected to the intake manifold.

The gasses are vented from the valve cover to the intake arm. It goes through the intake manifold then gathers up in the pcv valve.

Ok, that's what I thought. I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the info. All of the manuals are unclear about what tubes are used in the PCV system. Thx.

I'll probably clean out or replace the tubes. I have oil leaking from some seals and I just want to make sure the PCV system is clean and free of any obstructions.

The PCV valve itself, comes out of the oil breather chamber on the back of the block underneath the intake manifold. It uses vaccum to suck the vapors out. The valve colver breather should be connected to your intake tube.

Crankcase vapors are exited through the back of the block. It's hard to spot the hose, which goes to the PVC valve (mounted on intake manifold), then connected to a vaccum line going into the intake manifold.

Valve cover/Head vapors are exited through the top of the valve cover. That hose is connected to the intake arm.

I can find the breather hose from the valve cover and the hose to the PCV valve. I just can't find the hose from the back of the block. Even the helm's manual is sketchy too about this hose from the back of the block.

But JDM_Ej, you say the PCV valve is in the oil breather chamber and not the intake manifold.

To make sure the system is clean I plan on replacing the breather hose and the hose to the PCV valve. What about the oil breather chamber? Should I replace this too?
