i want to get some eagle rods and cp pistons for an all motor set up for my ls/vtec motor, but how do i know which rods and pistons to buy. i saw some eagle rods on ebay but i dunno if they are the right ones. any suggestions??

 

the best i can say is check the mags and see what top racers use thats how im doin my build some companies haven't made a name for themselves like AEM or someone but if a big name used it and theres no sponsorship behind it they gotta be good

 

Look in the sponsors forum, There are plenty of sponsors selling cp pistons and eagle rods

 

will ctr or itr pistons fit perfectly with eagle rods w/o modification?

 

it all depends on what the motor is gonna be used for, for street/ race i would shot peen the ls rods and go with itr pistons. ask 91lsvtec about his set up

 

what if it is going to be used for street setup. what is involved in shot peening ls rods? but will the eagle rods fit the itr pistons ok w/o any modifications?

 

when you shot peen your rods im makes them harder and alot stronger, as for the rod fitment on itr pistons i dont know.

 

shot peening is just a coating that is on the rods from the factory.

what some people do is have the rods media blasted to take out any casting imperfections in the rods, then they have to be re-shot peened.

itr pistons will not fit on pr4(ls) rods with out shaving them. pr3, p30, and ctr will fit on pr4 rods without shaving.
