NEW Kirks Roll Bar Installed
Hey Guys
Just got the New Kirks Roll bar installed. It will NOT clear the back seats like the old design but it seems alot stiffer and the top bar goes all the way to the rufe if you specify a Type R model.
Install was pretty easy and straight forward.
Enjoy

OH and it drives a little different but it is not too stiff for the street.

.....where do the rear feet mount?
I really like how the type R version has greater clearance.
.....I wonder if you can buy this (or another version) as a 4-point and later make it a 6-point.

the rear feat mount on both sides of the spare tire well to the floor
this is a 4 point and you can buy the extra legs to make it a six point ... but they have to be welded on (one of the reasons I got this one over the auto power)

Why would a 'type R' specific roll bar be any different??
Why would they even make a 'type r' specific rollbar? That sounds pretty ridiculous.
I've seen other Kirk bars in cars other than Type R's (civics, gs-r, etc), and the the main hoop always goes to the 'rufe'.

I believe other roll bars have to take into account the reduced headroom due to the possibility of having the optional sunroof. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct, the Type R has more head room, GS-R or any other integra
equipped with a sunroof has a lower head liner. It sucks.

Padding is on the way I just did not have it at the time of install
So no need for flaming!
The ITR specific is for a NON- Sunroof model as specified before.
I can post more pictures of how the rear feet mount to the car later on tonight but it is really nothing special. I just drilled the 3 holes for each leg through the floor and they bolt around the frame on the under side of the car (on both sides of the gas tank). If you look under your car it is real easy to see where, they are just big square posts.
I purchased it from Chris @ http://www.illstreet.com/catal...f18f9
It takes a while to get it b/c they do not stock them a kirk's produces them as they are ordered and they are drop shipped to you. ( took about 1.5 months to get mine) But Chris kept me updated every step of the way.
He was great with customer service.

looks great!!! i like how the main hoop is right next to the head liner. thats the problem with the autopower that prevents me from buying it. i just dont like how the rear bars go into the trunk with the kirks bar. i like the autopower rear leags...just seems stiffer. might have to pick this bar up instead!! thanks!!
