What front main seal do I need to replace my current one on my first gen B16a? I know the rear main I can get from either a del sol or teg, but I'm not so sure bout the front main. I'm thinking the sol. I have a massive leak there and I need to change it out ASAP.

I think that you should be able to use the one from the del sol.

 

well, I'm thinking delsol since it was the first production honda in the US with the b16. I doubt a 1.8L fms would work... anyone know for sure?

 

i honestly would think a 1.8 would work, but if you must use a b16, then why dont you tell them you want one for a 99 civic si. make sure you say dohc vtec, as our honda parts man is a dumbass and will sell you d series stuff even after you repeat what it is.

everything ive had to get for the first gen jdm b16's, i ordered for a 99 si.(intake gasket, pan gasket, tb gasket).

 

I've always bought for the 94-97 delsol vtec bc I have heard the 99-00 si has a few things that dont fit quite right. I'm suprised with as many people that have B16's on here that tehre are only to "semi-sure" people posting on this...

Another question....When you install it, I knowhow to do it, BUT do you put it in flush with teh block or further in? If so, how far in? will it hit a lip and stop where it needs to be? I have read there is a srping in it... where does that go/what does it do?

 

no it wont hit a lip, just push it in flush.

well just get it for a del sol then.

 

well, I'm finally getting time to do this along with the front wheel bearings and ball joints.

I'm having trouble getting the FMS out of its position. How do you get this thing out?
