Default d16y7 vs. b18c in weight

looking to prep my car for autocross/road racing for next year. I was wondering if anyone knew the differance between the weights of these motors, and how it can affect my handling performance if I drop a b18c into my 97 civic dx.

Do not "prep" your car for autocross.

Leave your car stock and learn how to drive.

It'll allow you to be the most competitive in a particular class as a novice.

Is your car modified already?

yes. I have an intake and exhuast. Which class would they put me in?

Please don't misunderstand, I do not look to hook up my car before I completely learn how to drive it being new to civics and sports compact cars, but knowing that it is a front wheel drive car I'm just intrested to see how much more weight is thrown up front with a b18 as opposed to my current motor.

intake/exhaust should keep you in the stock class.

As for motor weight, I believe it is ~100lb difference between the 2.

Stock class, cat back OK. Intake other than changing the air filter in the stock airbox, not OK. If you have the airbox, put it back and run stock. If not or you don't want to, then STS probably.
