Help CRX died, tach bounces - MPFI swap on auto DX
A couple weeks ago I did a mpfi swap on my automatic DX. I had a manual throttle body on my intake manifold, so I had to order an automatic one because there was no place on the manual throttle wheel for the kick down cable.
I drove the car the first week, and it drove fine besides not shifting right, so I babied it the whole week. I finally get my new throttle body on, and the kick down cable hooked up, and take it for a test drive, and it runs great.
I'm driving home tonight, and notice the tach is a little jumpy around 2500 rpm, and it seems to hesitate a little before it shifts. Then the car just dies sitting at a red light. I got it started, got it home, and all my wiring looks okay (I thought a solder connection might have come loose).
I have no ECU codes and no check engine light. And I drove the car fine (other than not shifting cause of the kick down cable) the first week with no problems. Now after I've changed the throttle body she dies on me.
Please give me some suggestions, I knew things were going too smoothly

Anything to do with tach is directly related to the distributor.
Replace the distributor.
There isn't anything else i would suggest until you rule out that because 99% of the time, that's it.

Would a bad ignitor cause the car to just die? The car does run fine for a while, then the tach bounces around 2500 rpm, then she dies.
I used my Haynes manual for testing the ignitor and tried checking for continuity on the black/yellow and blue/white wires, and I got nothing.
I have an ignitor off my DX thats fairly new, about 3 years old, will the DX ignitor work on my Si distributor?
I bought a used distributor for my MPFI swap, am I better off just buying a new distributor?

Can I use the ignitor off my DX dizzy on the Si one? What about the gel stuff you have to put on it, does it have to have it?
