Default P72 ECU with Skunk 2 manifold

Does anyone have any experience in running the STOCK GSR ecu wit a skunk 2 manifold?. Im running the stock P72 wit Vafc on mt GSR wit Skunk2 IM and Stage 2 cams and just wondering if my car is running right cause the VAFC was dyno tuned but it was a year ago when i was only running I/H/E so im assuming that with my new set up now that my car may not be running at optimum. Is this true. Im working on getting my hondata right now. Could my stock 240 injectors be an issue also?

You can disable the IABs with a chip, otherwise it will have a check engine light on.

The absence of the IABs shouldn't trigger a CEL, or at least that's what I thought.

In any case, upgrade your ecu.

IAB wont trip any CEL. Your stock injectors r fine. just wait for hondata and tune the car

Well now I'm smarter. I deal too much with OBD2 cars where the wrong attitude will net you a check engine light...

My advice:
Sell the vafc.
Buy a chipped obd1 ecu (uberdata, crome, hondata ready).

i am running obd1 p72in my 92 hatch b18c1 skunk2 mani. dc 4-1 header greddy exhaust aem cold air g-sport 70mm throttle body. It ran a 13.8 quarter. It runs great gas mileage is good. but i had it dynoed and under wide open throttle it got rich after vtec kicked in around 11.7 at 8000 rpm. It could stand to be alittle leaner but i would think if i added some good cams that breathed better on the top end it would even out and have a flat af ratio across the board. But it is only rich when you kick in vtec so who cares about gas mileage then i want power.

be it that my Vafc was tuned on the dyno for I/H/E, do u think its a good idea to just reset the Vafc back to stock settings?

me thinks the settings for the i/h/e might be closer to what you want.

I'm thinking that your vafc was tuned to give you more fuel, which you will need for the cams.

remember the gsr computer thinks there is a secondary butterfly in the manifold. and there isnt in the skunk 2. this will hurt you./

well as of the moment there is no telling if the fuel is in the right places in the right amount.

This has nothing to do with the fact that your running a stock p72 on a gsr motor with a skunk2 manifold.
