The answer for some stuff could be hood locks but nothing can be done about flat beds

I suspect the thieves now know where just about every Type R is through this forum, registries, even by querying the dealers. Keep this in the back of your head.

Some Recommendations

Remove specific info on the location of your car from the forums and registries open available to the public, even remove reference to your car in signatures if you live in a high theft area.
Keep your car in the garage whenever possible.
Have a beater car to use when traveling to high risk places like malls, parking on city streets, public parking lots, etc.
Don't tell strangers in bars, clubs, etc. where your car is located (or where you live).
Make stealing the car as hard as possible with alarms, lojack, fuel cutouts, etc. however if the thief really wants your car, he will take it anyway.
Do what some poeple have, turn your ITR into a sleeper by removing the wing, spoiler, badges, painting car black.
Turn the car into a full bore race car with gutted interior, cage, securely lock the engine compartment, and keep in garage.

This ITR theft problem is ridiculous. I wonder if the BMW M3, Corvette Z06, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes, or even the NSX people have the same problem.

Eventually the RSX will eventually interest the thieves, good for us, bad for them.

Geez. I got the car before I knew about all this stuff. After reading the Car and Driver magazine about the '97 ITR ... I knew it was something I wanted to try drive/own. Finally got a '00 and after joining ITRCA/honda-tech.com ... I find out about the theft rate on DC2-Rs. I was surprised, to say the least ...

It's just a damned Integra. Leave us alone. We like our cars. Get a job. Earn your own ****. <---me venting a bit.

remember on cops when they set up that sting with the tractor trailer in the hood? The hood rats went for it and got busted.

Park the R in a great spot and hang out in a blacked out van near-by waiting to dance on the thieves head with a sledgehammer.

I think this is the best way! Also swap your ITR interior w/ "cloth beater" material!
