Default hard topic to search for...faint bubbling/clicking sound while excelerating...

In every gear as I pull the cluch out and depress the gas I hear a faint sound that I can only describe as bubbling/slight clicking. I almost want to say I feel the slightest loss of power during the sound as well. I only hear it when I first start excelerating in each gear for about three seconds (this is smooth driving) and don't hear it at all if I'm grandma'ing it around. This elaboration may seem nuts, but the clicking sound is almost like the sound of one of those exhaust flaps on a 18-wheeler clanking open and closed (as in it sounds similar and is in similar timing with the throttle response).

Obviously, any help is apreciated!

okay it's accelerating (kids, don't do drugs) and most likely, it's detonation/pre-ignition from carbon build up. please, people tell me if my searching has led me in the right direction...
