Default Has anyone installed a tranny by themselves with only a jack? Need advise, what position?

I am trying to reinstall my tranny, and I have it on a jack just inches from the block. Every time I try to move the tranny, it wants to fall off the jack and I end up using brute force to lift it and try to mate it to the block. But I fatigue out before I can get it on. I need some advice.

I am leaning over the fender and lifting it off the jack and trying to install. My back is really getting tired. One time I thought I had it, but my feet flew in the air and down went the tranny. I guess I really need friends, but I moved out into the sticks and they are a city away. Is there any way I can do this solo, and what position should I attack this from? Please, if anyone has done it solo, give some tips.

get some 2x4's and/or bricks and place them under tranny to keep the tranny close to lining up to block. This way if the tranny slips its only going an inch or so.. not all the way back to the ground.

I did it like that on my civic si and it worked like a charmed with one jack and myself.

Thats amazing, I was searching my shed for all the 2x4's for my attempt tomorrow, funny you should mention that. Thanks for your response and I feel more confident in getting it back together tomorrow.
