Default Race car record keeping..

Does anyone keep detailed service records of the maintenance of their race car? If so, do you have an excel template that you use and would be willing to share? When I finally get back on track I want to approach racing a little more professionally. Having experienced maintenance related DNFs and DNSs in the last three events I ran I would like to get a bit more organized.

I do, in a way.

I have several lists, ranking from things done at the end of each season (wheel bearings and such) to things done between each event (oil change, check vital nuts and bolts).

As an example, after each event I print up the list, add anything that may need to be done (line crash damage or replacing broken parts), and put it under the wiper of the car. Each item gets crossed off as its done.
At the end of the season I do the same thing with the seasonal list.

I keep a spiral bound notebook with setup details, tire pressures, shock settings, etc and lap times with weather conditions. I have started to add when I replace what parts and 'to do' items to this.

I do like Catch's list but havn't gotten there yet.

I keep track of maintainance in a notebook for each car.

As far as car setups I use a setup specification sheet where we measure the temperatures, jot down our alignment settings, tires, tire pressures and compounds, ride heights, shock settings, etc. for each race. I will post the template sometime soon.

I started keeping a notebook of all the usual things.... mainenance, changes, setup notes, track notes, weather/tire pressures/shock settings/spring rate/alignment, etc - I figure I sure as hell dont know what i'm doing now, but the more info I take down, eventually I'll figure it out.
