Default Anyone have a Suspension Techniques rear sway bar?

Just got mine all mounted up and what not (took lots of pictures!), and I was wondering; does anyone have a picture of their sway bar mounted with the exhaust run? I haven't even TRIED to get the tailpipe/muffler back on yet... looking at the sway bar, I have a feeling that the pipe won't fit at all. I have to take it to the shop for re-welding anyway, so just wanted to see if I could have a look-see at what I need to deal with.

Feel free to e-mail me if the picture isn't hosted... PM me for the address.

Thanks SO much in advance.

Ouch... full custom? What the hell did you do for a muffler?

Sounds like a kickass setup, tho. Wish VA would be cool with something like that.

Wow that mounts up better than the stock brackets. I had the stock bracket welded to the body a few years back....

and it ripped at the body. Mounts to the rear tow hook bolts, and a triangular bracket, very nice.

Very sturdy... I was impressed as to how easy it went on. Except for the fact that ST wants you to cold-chisel the lower strut weldnut off... took an angle grinder to mine.

Is there any vibration in your exhaust, fireant? Does it rub anywhere? Or just bone stock?

And one more question, fireant... what size exhaust is that?

That's a stock Si exhaust, and its roughly 1.75"...Theres no touching or rubbing at all whatsoever...even with the car lowered two three inches.

You might notice some scrapes in my picture because I take my exhaust off for autocrossing, and I bang it around in there when I'm putting back in at the end of a long day.

I have noticed on stock bars that they can be installed upside down and they wont clear the exhaust that way...so be sure you have that right.

Yeah... I started to put the sway bar on upside down, but noticed that it was WAAAY to close to the underside of the body. I got that figured out pretty quick. Plenty of clearance after that.

I'm getting the tailpipe re-welded and installed tomorrow (2.25" exhaust with a Flowmaster 70 series muffler) and I'll try and get some pics of it all mounted and pretty. Right now it just looks awful tight; hopefully it'll all work out with minimal scraping.

I did this install not so long ago. I went to my local muffler shop(great work). They mounted the sway bar for me, when the muffler(Greddy) did hit, they changed the rubber piece that holds the muffler to a smaller and stiffer one. Car handles awsome.

I just took off my hks exhaust yesterday off my hatch and put on a custom 2.5 exhaust and it didn't touch my ST sway bar at all. I just had to adjust the hangers a little. My car is lowered about 3'.

Thank goodness when I had my exhaust done I already had the ST sway bar in place...cause they were having fun trying to clear the sway bar, I mean trying to get the 3" exaust pipe was not easy but they did after a few tries.

here is a good illustration for you.

Sweet Christmas, that's a LOT tighter than mine. Except for the size of the pipe and the fact that mu tailpipe and muffler is all black, it looks pretty much just like mine under there.
