Default Supercharger Options

I was wondering about supercharger the ITR. I did a search and didnt find any threads which is strange. But none the less

What company's make superchargers for the ITR and what kinda power do they put out?

What is necessary to supercharge an ITR and keep it somewhat reliable on the stock motor

Will the gsr supercharger fit on the ITR, or is it true that only the Kits made for the B16, or b18c b18c5 will fit with ease..?

Which kits are you running, what supporting mods, what power you putting down and what kinda 1/4 are you running?

thanks in advance

the ITR motor is a B18C5

Jackson Racing makes a kit. alot of people say it is not worth the money tho.
There was a thread about a week ago about supercharging ITR. look back. there are several other too.

Someone said they adapted the Vortec kit for the ITR.

I wont throw in my $.02 tho cause iv never boosted anything myself.

There has to be a few threads covering this, but I'll be nice since I'm stuck at work with nothing better to do.

Vortech and Jackson Racing make blowers for our cars that can put anywhere from 200-275 whp down very smoothly.

Supercharge it and keep it reliable? Most the manufactures make full kits that pretty much include everything you need to keep it somewhat reliable. FI forum would be where you would find more info after a search.

The GSR kit will not fit the ITR due to the way the bolts on the IM line up.

I think most blowers I've seen on HT are the Jackson racing. They usually put 220 whp give or take with minor bolt ons. Turbo kits work better with drag racing and most people use blowers for their smooth powerband which you would benefit from more on a roadcorse/auto x.

I have JRSC.... @ 5.5lbs 220WHP... gonna go 9lbs soon. I'll let you know. The supercharger is the way to go. Smooth power all the way up. It doesn't sound as cool as a turbo.... however it runs great. Get Hondata s200b to run the JRSC. I have a daily driver that if I desire... will hammer most cars out there. Good Luck

I got a Procharger w/ a front mount, I went with the tuner kit which is basically everything you need to install the charger, just with out the engine management. I put down 265whp @8lbs with a mild tune. Other mods include: Hondata s200,440cc injectors, 4-1 header(should be 4-2-1) w/ a charger and 3" exhaust. The kit is kind of noisy at idle though, but it sounds really nice once it is moving!

If you want to do a blower of any kind you should build the internals first then add the blower, lower your compression.

I haven't heard much about the Procharger for a Hype R. Got pics? Dyno plots?

I'm thinkin about the JR cause its a lot cheaper than the Vortech. What times do you get with the car and do you find on hot days the charger isn't as good?

Along with some other JDM motor I believe the SIR was the same code.

I definetely do not agree with this at all

There are different types of chargers

if you do a Jackson Racing charger, there is really no need to lower compression, where it is a roots charger and uses power to make power

and since the JRSC can only handle 11 psi, there is no point in lowering your compression

if you decided to go with a vortec or similar product and was producing 300+ whp then you would want to lower your compression

tuning is the key

you can easily turbo or supercharge an ITR up to about 10 psi / 300 whp without dropping compression

i have a JRSC on my car at 8 psi and put down about 250 whp safely

charger is a little noisy, but whatever, its power, its usable, its torque at low RPMS and its smooth. It also makes a neat whinding noise

Do you have any issues with the turbine right there in the fender/wheel well? Seems like an interesting setup... definately not the average JRSC/vortech installation FMIC on a supercharger seems like a good concept

SC cars with the JRSC work better with a short ram

I wasn't aware that the JRSC can only be pushed to 11LBS, but I know the compression on a stock ITR is on the high side for FI going past 10lbs. If you aren't going to be pushing anything past this amount then thats fine, but after 10lbs I would recommend changing internals.

Your search for supercharger returned 969 results.

Liar.

I have actually made a few comments this weekend at the WV meet about that, as well as a few weeks ago to some other ITR forum guys. It's for this reason I am writting up a basic s/c guide about the do's, do not's and advantages/ disadvanteges between the JRSC, comptech, vortech and procharger systems.

im really curious to know what a supercharger itr making around 250whp can run 1/4 time and what kind of set-up it takes to push a jrsc to run 11 psi-250whp....

like what parts would be needed.......

your close to reaching the limit on a JRSC on 11psi.however,throw a 3.4 pulley on it and it will push more, but will void the blower warranty.my car only put down around 235whp with IHE,VAFC,and 330's,and that was on about 13psi.

i make 250 at 8 psi

at 11 psi, you should be able to reach around 280 or so

but i also have a lot of other mods to compliment the charger
