Default need help for the FNG

I got a 93 Honda Accord with auto tranny that has 200K miles on it that the wife uses as a daily driver. The she called me and said that she couldn't get the car to go in gear. When I pushed on the brake pedal the horn beeps (she didn't mention that) and like she said, it wouldn't come out of park.

I did a little searching here and found where many people asked about not being able to get the car out of park and it ususally is a result of a faulty brake switch, but nobody every mentioned that the horn beeped.

My question....does this still sound like a brake switch problem? Is it possible that the brake switch itself can cause this kind of short or is it likely that the short is somewhere else?

the horn and the brake switch share the same fuse ... if u cannot take car out of park it is a quick diagnose to see if horn beeps if it does than fuse is ok if it does not first stop would be to chk fuse ,,, since the horn on ur car beeps we know that fuse is ok so u got to go down the line to brake switch,, on the pedal disconnect plug at brake switch jump the 2 wires if u can get out of park u got a bad brake switch ,, another quick test is push on brake pedal if brake switch is bad brake lites will not come on ,,,now u know fuse is ok so jump the switch if lites come on u got a bad switch ... 2 different ways to diagnose ur problem .......i say possible cause it could still be something else not likely but possible ..

Oh yeah iforgot to mention that the brake lights don't work and I did check the fuse even though I didn't need to since the fuse worked.

It could be your A/T shift solenoid. It is located near your shifter under the console. With key on engine off and stepping on the brake pedal you should hear a little click sound by the shifter. If not then chances are that it is bad.
