Painting Exhaust?
So I was thinking of painting the can of my exhaust. I am going for a "non bling" look to my bike. All blue with black accent parts. Besides the gold wheels.
Anyway it won't hurt anything if i spray my can will it? I am going to get some good high temp painted do it.

Yeh make sure you get high temp paint....It won't hurt anything just make sure you don't overspray onto your bike, taking the pipe off would be the easiest way to do it, i imagine you already know that though...
Take some pictures when its done so we can see it, I have a feeling that the paint will crack over though over time and riding style...

Yeah the bottom of my can is already a little beat up from rocks.

Yeh theres a disadvantage to undertail exhaust...maybe look into getting a rear hugger if your going to take some time and paint it nicely...might slow the chipping process..
edit: Hey also grab yourself some 320 grit sandpaper and scratch the surface a bit, the paint will stick better that way....320 grit or higher, just fine fine little scratches so the paint will stick and with a coat or 2 the scratches won't show up anyway.

Just curious, what grits did you use (wet or dry) and what kind of paint did you end up using?

I just used 220 grit and 1200 degree Rust-o-leum (flat black).
