Default b16a2 head on C5 block, worth it?

i have the opportunity to get a c5 block for a fairly decent price and was wondering if it was worth it to drop my 1.6 block for the 1.8?

That's what I have. It hauls ***. Get good cams and you'll never notice a difference.

It's a US B18C5 with a B16 head and intake manifold, GS-R cams. Nothing special, but it moves well in my 2200 lb car. I'll probably keep the B16 manifold as it gives better midrange than a Hype R, but a larger throttle body will probably be good after I get the air flowing better.

I don't have any numbers at this time. I have an AN-R header and BC 3+ cams ready to put in, so I'm going to get a dyno before. I'll put the header on first to get rid of my stock crap, dyno again, then the cams. If I get a chance I'll run it on the 1/4 mile as well. I do know it hits the speed limiter before getting to start/finish at VIR, with a passenger and the windows down. I'm missing a lot of top end as well due to the crummy exhaust manifold and cams.

thanks... yea ill probly just throw in an itr valvetrain with cams... i have a comptech 4-2-1 now but if i get the block ill probly go with a 4-1 2.5" collector to get air flowing out nicely..

what intake are you running? if you dont have it already, go for an AEM itr intake, its a full 3" intake.

You read my mind. One of my challenges is finding one for a decent price. The other is I think I'll have to relocate my battery, as the battery in the EFs is in the way of pretty much every intake I could want. Any input would be appreciated...

sound on it is awesome.. i just got one from a member on here for $150 brand new. takes some work but it fits.. on an EF im not too sure if itll work, might have to relocate the battery or call up aem and see if they offer a hybrid intake in 3 inch for your application.
