on very hot sunny days the accord(1992) is very difficult to start--at present have a new set of plugs, wires, point, fuel filter--this happen every summer the last five or six years--several times a summer--in all cases except toda--letting the car rest several hours resulted in start ups.


also there is a rough hestitation at initial acceleration, or when at complete stop and then acceleration-mechanic says at 154,000 miles the car may need replacement of motor mounts--he looked at in shop acceleration showed some engine shimmy.

is there any other reasons for the hesitation--even after the tune up

mmm interesting u got a new set of points as well an a 92 accord??? i hope u did not get charged for that ,, maybe points are worn already ........ok i am being a smart *** last honda that used point s was almost 20 years ago .........ok to serious business

you could have a bad main relay the soldering crack and in hot humid weather especially it wont start the car....try a quick test get a can of carb cleaner, remove tube that goes to throttle body when car does not start spray carb cleaner in throttle body if car starts i would remove the relay and chk for cracked solderings ,,,the main relay is located under left side of dash left side of steering column if u have cruise control u need to remove the cruise control unit box 2 10mm bolts ,,after that if u look up under dash relay has 7 wires going to it it is brownish/rusty color ,,

i dont think broken motor mounts will cause a rough hesitation or bogging ?? at initial accell ,, engine shimmy yes u might have a different issue with hesitation

 

change your main relay

If you wanna save money. Get you a solder iron and some solder and resolder the cracks in the main relay. I think a new main relay from Honda cost around 50?
