you need to devolop a launching technique to improve your 60ft...even w/ you getting a 2.3? on that run would of netted you a 15.8?-15.9?...just going to take practice

Do you mean like launching at a higher rpm (i launched at 4k) or just being better with the clutch because i didn't spin my tires excessively.

2.7 60ft is really bad. atleast 2.3.......work on your launch....go from anywhere 2500rpm to 3500.......you'll get into the 15's...

I tried launching at like 3k last time but i had f'ed up motor mounts and was running way to much psi in my tires so i just spun the tires, guess i just got carried away this time. my tires were also bald this time, I'll try launching at 3k on my new tires next time, do you guys think that will make a big difference in my 60'? Has anybody tried Irwindale on Thursday nights? any good for practice?

I went to Irwindale 2 weeks ago, and my best 60' was a 2.10. Not bad for my first time at the track, and a heavy *** GTI on 195/65/15 all season tires.

Just practice, and don't just dump the clutch.

I dont have any real numbers for my budget but I can afford lsv with out much saving but to rebuild and do lsv might take me a little bit of waiting(for example), I would like to be in the 14s soon, but not sure what that will cost exactly

lsv=LS VTEC (im trial and ran out of posts for today)

The traction on Saturday was not kind to any of the cars not running slicks or drag radials. I was with a group of h20 VW's and only 2of us got good 60fts. I was cutting 1.8-1.9s on slicks.....and a buddy on BFG drag radials was cutting 2.1-2.20 60fts. The rest of the group was on radials and their 60 fts were between 2.4-2.6...so don't feel too bad.

buy a nitrous kit. that will surely put you in the 14's... on my Auto LS DA 2 years ago, i ran 16.7 NA, and i sprayed it to a low of 15.05.... with a 5 speed, thats surely a 14
