Default Good Lowering Springs for the money...help me decide plz

Well I picked up a ls motor for my ef, and I'm planning to convert to DA front knuckles with DA brakes (if I can find a good deal on them). I'm looking to buy a good set of lowering springs around a 1.5 to 2" drop designed for the weight of b- series swap. Unfortunately I don't have the money to cough up for struts just yet. Any recommendations on springs and who sells them for the best price? Thanks

You should not buy springs until you can afford good struts to go with them. You will destroy your stock struts, especially with an extreme 1.5 to 2.0 inch drop.

When I bought my car it had neuspeed race springs which dropped it about that much. Car rode horribly and bottom out all over the place. Had to go so slow over speed bumps or I'd hit my oil pan. Eventually put a hole in my oil pan and had to replace it. Also, the rear springs were a pain to keep in place, every time I jacked up the rear end they popped out since with the car jacked up they were uncompressed.

I'm currently running koni yellows with H&R OE sport springs.. These drop the car the perfect amount and handle great in combination with my sway bar. BTW I think a two inch drop looks horrid as the space between the wheel and the fender is not the same all around. Looks ghetto and rides horribly.

on the website it said you can use stock shocks, are there any modifications you have to make to the shocks first? someone said to cut the bump stops but that seems like it would not be a good idea. thanks

You 'Could" use stock shox IF the new springs had the identical Rate as the OEM ones.. they might by likely don't. Replacing springs is always a Hillbilly solution In my experiences Few if any Aftermarket springs are of similar quality (read durability) to OEM ones.. Period.
Shorter springs do require cutting some off of the bump stops otherwise yer gonna be using the bump stops as your suspension.

Anybody running the omnipower slip coilovers??? They don't come with the struts, but for $150 these coilovers might be a better solution for me. That way I can lower the car a little bit until I have money to buy some struts than lower it more. Just an idea
