Default Myth or Truth? ITB's installed on a medium modified motor runs out the cams faster.

Hi all.

I was just wondering if it is true that installing ITB's would make your cams wear down faster.

To be honest, I've never heard of such a thing.

We just bought a J's racing ITB to install on a ITR, pretty much with basic with simple bolt on's and stock internals. Plan on building the engine in the future, later on when more mileage is added to the car. The car is a 2001, but got the ITB's now so am planning to install them with current setup tuned with a Hondata.

Any pros, cons, or comments welcome.

Thanks.

I thought so too. Thanks, so many people speak of different things. I don't say anything and prefer to ask, unless I'm "100%" positive.

Even if I'm 90% sure, I don't risk being wrong; but that is just me

Thanks, getting them installed tomorrow and tuned. Any other ideas or comments are welcome. Thanks.

Cams will be fine, but your blinker fluid will drain faster

Hmm really? Just got these ITB's and got someone back home in Thailand that will want it for price purchased.

Am I an idiot for buying these iTB's and planning on running them with a Hondata at cost of: $2000. Car has DC 4-1 Headers, Apex Exhaust, AEM Intake right now

$700 Hondata + Tuning at HeelToe Automotive SOCAL
$1300 J's Racing ITB

$2000 Total.

Want to mod the car, but don't want to ruin any resale value on the ITR. I'm not a mechanic so labor costs and maintanence costs must be factored in, thus turboing is out of the question.

NA seems best for me, and although car is not rocket fast, i just want to make the car a little more fun to drive then it already is.

Changing the cams worth it in comparision to money spent for new ones like rocket motorsport vs. keeping stock ones and doing something else?

Plan of now is to just install ITB with Hondata tuning on stock internals with current bolt ons.

Thanks.
