Default Lower Control Arm Problems & GC Install

1990 Honda Civic Hatchback SI with GC Coil-ovre kit, Eibach Springs, and Koni Sports (yellow's).

- LCA bolt seized and removed with the help of a grinder, which now requires me to replace the bushing. I THOUGHT that wouldn't be a problem since I've got a Prothane kit, but the metal sleeve in the LCA won't budge. I'm looking for guidance before I buy new LCA's. Thanks!

- Dust boot, use it or loose it? The instructions say to cut it down to 1", but what's that really going to do?

- Setup. Any suggestions on shock location? The koni's have that snap ring and three places in which to adjust the height. The car is used as a daily driver and auto-x.

Oh, BTW, I bought my stuff from a shop in PA, http://www.redshiftmotorsports.com. Good people there.

Thanks!

Welcome to my world.

I've been searching and searching for solutions and I'm really considering just buying some omni-power LCAs.

I just hope theres no fitment issues with them, or any other problems.

I didnt use the dust boots.

Also, I took a torch to my lca bolts and actually the metal sleeve in the lca bushing came out along with the bolt still stuck inside. I think just cause of the intense heat, it just melted and came out with a few hits with a hammer and a punch thing..?

So thats my story, good luck dude.

if you dont have the tools to press out the bushing, or its deterioted so badly, it wont come out, then just torch it out. the outer sleeve will still be there, just use a saw to cut a slit and punch to drive it out.

lose it. dust boot is going to interfere with the sleeve.

use stock location. it doesnt matter really, youre adjusting height with the ground controls anyway.
