Type R Gurus
Looking into a 1998 Type R #885. I used the search feature but to no avail found any info. Just wondering since she had 2 owners, if anyone here may have any info on it. It has a clean title, but from the looks of it, the interior has been stripped for track purposes. (autox) I am waiting a response from the owner for the rest of the info. Being that a majority of you have been to the track with your itr's what would be your advice besides a compression test and overall inspection of the car. It only has 52,xxx miles and looks to be in excellent shape. I would return the interior to stock, as in remove the cage, replace the steering wheel to stock, replace the rear seats and carpeting, as well as door panels, and console. Any advice would be appreciated. Lastly, I would be upgrading from a 1998 GS-R with equivalent mileage. I am not in any way following this hype-r trend as I think I have matured further than that but am looking a getting a reliable daily driver with a few upgrades from the GS-R. Also, I do not live in an area where theft is a big problem, at least I think. Thanks, Ryan
Replacing stock interior pieces would = lotsa money. I wouldn't buy one like that unless I liked it that way.
As far as things to look for if it hasn't been in an accident and looks to be in good shape/runs well it should be an awesome car.

not a bad deal, but look to spend at least 2 grand to put the interior back ......maybe a little less.......or more
and the a/c is missing also, i believe.........
good luck

I knew the original owner here in VA. The car was kept clean while he owned it. Also he is a stand up guy with autox and allsports gp always on the brain!
