How long is the stock clutch supposed to last on the ITR? Ive got 30K on my ITR, and I drive it pretty hard, and it feels like the clutch is starting to go. Does that sound normal to you guys? I dont have a manual to check on any of that info. Im thinking about going with a CM Stage 3 kit with ultralight flywheel to replace the OEM unit. Anybody have any comments, good or bad, on that? Thanx.

 

I already replaced my clutch, flywheel, and final drive, with exedy, toda, and ATS. My car has 11094 miles on it and now it revs like a bike and grabs like a gorilla. f#ck the stock clutch

 

You'd be wise to replace it now...

Mine separated at 41K with no warning - taking the 3rd gear sychro when it went. Aaahhh! Warranty.

 

8K on stock clutch + 2 bottles of Nawwwws, valves lasted about 10 bottles..

 

It really depends on how you drive.

Go exedy, they seem to be the top choice right now. Only thing, make sure to adjust your throw on your pressure plate does not hit the clutch.

 

hahaha... sorry had 20 other things going on.

Make sure to adjust the throw on your clutch pedal so the pressure plate does not come in contact with the clutch plate when you press the clutch pedal to the floor. There is a piece of paper that comes with the clutch/pressure plate, let you know about this.

I have 64000 miles (102000 km) on my stock clutch...drag race and do lapping days too!

 

go to http://www.RandDmotorsports.com, I got the clutch and flywheel for $740 on special and the ATS final drive for $725 on special (I think the specials are over though) but I'm sure their regular price is much lower than anything else and their customer assistance is way above normal.

My stock clutch has 18000 miles on it and it is gone.....Thanks to Dave at R+D because my exedy clutch, toda flywheel, and ats fd all arrived today. Its going to be a long night!

 

How do you know if the pressure plate is hitting the clutch plate? I read the paper when I installed my Exedy last month, but it doesn't seem like there's a problem with mine (ie. no strange noises, etc.).

 

My stock clutch has 41K miles on it and it's still like the first day I have it!!

 

mine has 40k also. and still going strong. i do want a clutch flywheel combo though.

 

if the PP touch the clutch disc when the pedal is all the way on the floor, it is called dragging. you will have a hard time to change gear and most likely grind.

 

I just got mine replaced at 29000 miles, I got it under warrenty, I guess it was a faulty clutch. It was gonna be $900 to get a new one from the dealer installed. I was crapping my pants until I found that they were gonna do it for free.

I suggest the Exedy full face disc and the ACT Xtreme pressure plate. Works fine for me, holds the power, takes the revs and is easy to drive on a dialy basis...
