what brand is it? i'm sure you could go to their website for some help/instructions. or try apexi's S/V-AFC instructions, they tap into ecu wires to run their digital tachs. no offense, but why do you need a "monster" tach? didn't your prelude come with one?

It might matter if its an internal or exteral coil, on internal coils its usually the green wire off of the distributor, however more than likely the color is different. All the ones i've wired go to the distributor or ecu for the tach signal

I believe this forum is Honda-TECH where you post all your TECHnical questions about Honda. Why is it a worthless thread? This place is for you to turn to when you need answers. The guy has question and he needs answer. Instead posting the answer, your ******* *** was saying *****. If he knows, he wouldn't need to post up here. It is not his fault that he doesn't know how to wire it up. Maybe he is not as SMART as you are.

I totally agree with "xbn83" on this. Whether you have minimal experience with cars or not, you should be able to post on honda-tech without some idiot posting something along the lines of "haha......your stupid because i know how to do that and you dont." people with nothing to do i assume.

anyways..... blue wire is your "tachometer wire" on the 4th gen preludes. You can either tap into it by looking around the wires in your stock gauges OR there is a harness with two wires right in front of your distributor by the front of the block. One wire is black and yellow and the other is BLUE. This is the same blue wire by your stock gauges. Call autometer and ask them which color coming out of your gauge is power, ground, and tach. Then just hook them up accordingly.
