Default Timing belt came loose!!

So my engine died today at an intersection while approaching a left turn.

As I was hearing flapping noise but couldn't figure out what it was, I thought there was something hanging inside the wheel. When I found out it was already too late.

Infact, I came to a hault while the car was rolling to a stop at about 2000rpm, I wasn't pushing the car or revving it at all. It just stalled on me all of a sudden and wouldn't crank up.

So at this point, I dont know if any my valves are bent. But Im expecting the worst scenario.

My car has been towed to a shop to diagnose the problem, visually the belt has slipped off the cam gears just hanging between the valve cover and cam gears.

But I still dont understand how the belt slipped out, as I did my timing belt change just 6 months ago with less than 10K.

Im pretty sure the belt was slipped out while the car was idling with minimal revs, would this be severe enough to bend valves? There was no sign of power loss before hand, the problem just happened in a split second.

This is the worst day of my lude. I haven't even really push my car yet after the SMSP header and now sh*t happens.

All depends how much it slipped out of time. Idle CAN be detremental, hate to say it though. Did you look at the belt to see if it was the teeth or if the tensioner failed?
