I have a 01 type r and i currently have a jdm 4-1 header, smsp cat, and a t1r catback. I am trying to go back to stock but it is next to impossible to find a US itr catback.

I see alot of the jdm catback selling on sites, so i was thinkin about goin that route. My problem is, I want to have everything else stock and put on the jdm catback.

Bascially,

OEM US itr header + (what kind of cat) = bolt up to jdm itr catback?

Do I use the us cat or my 17inch smsp cat? I dont want to order the jdm catback and get stuck with buying a custom made cat. I just need to know what size cat or if my SMSP or oem cat will bolt up. thanks

 

I believe a '96-'99 GSR cat. will bolt right in because it's about 12" long.

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

 

I always thought GSR cats were 17" long for all years???????

I know it's at least 16"+

 

Where you located I have a stock USDM catback with cat. Let me know.

 

hey, i already found a catback, thanks though. I think you said I was too far away to ship, if I remember correctly. I ended up finding a stock us exhaust (thanks jason) from itr #1102.
