MPFI Swap: intake/TB compatability???
Planning an DPFI to MPFI swap for my '89 DX 1.5L.
Will a 1993 DX intake manifold match with a 1995 EX throttle body as a unit on my engine?
Thanks for your help!

Yes, it should (I think), but the injectors are different ...... you'll need to run the '88-'91 Si injectors/fuel rail, or remove your injector resistor box, and splice all those wires together for the new ones to work.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I dont know about the 88-91 ECU running the saturation style injectors, I have yet to find this out for sure.... but you're right on the other points.
TypeR0207,
I posted your reply to my parts compatability question on the Tech board hoping to get a simple explanantion why your suggestion would work on my planned swap. However, you may be the best one to provide the simple explanation of how and why this swap (with your recommended changes) would work.
Moreover, do I read your recommendation correct? I could substitute 88-91 Si injectors and fuel rail for those on the '93 DX intake OR I could remove the injector resistor box and splice all the wires together.
Thanks for your help!

use 89-91 SI injectors, resistor box, ecu, and distributor. your complete 93 DX MPFI system(intake manifold, fuel rail, fuel regulator, etc) will work except for the injectors. you can use the 95 EX TB as well.

I have a 2000 DX head with '90 Si fuel rail, intake manifold, throttle body, ECU, etc .... I made the mistake of buying an EK distributor, but realized this wouldn't work before putting it on, so I got an Si one that worked fine. All the D-Series parts are compattable (except some ZC stuff), but it is good to keep the fuel/emissions stuff within the same generation.
DID YOU GET THE WIRING FROM A "your complete 93 DX MPFI system(intake manifold, fuel rail, fuel
regulator, etc) "
I HAVE A 90 DX HATCH I JUST GOT
88 CRX SI ECU PM6 , PR4 ECU 90 LS
88 SI RESISTIOR , 90 LS RESISTIOR
I NEED MPFI WIRING does the wiring from other car will worck

I did it, with all si, injectors, ecu, resistor box and wiring. Be patiant, the wiring can be a nightmare, but you can do it. Your main relay might be wired different too. Get diagrams. good luck
yea, its a really good mod to do. i have a 90 DX HB with a 92 DX MPFI system, 91 SI ECU, dist, resistor box, and injectors. AEM CAI, DC header, 2" custom exhaust . my car is gutted and rollin on 13" VX rims(9 lbs). i beat ALL stock honda/acuras, modded SIs, modded GSRs. the only things that can get me are modded ITRs, hatches with swaps, etc. its pretty sick. its funny when people ask me what i have and i tell them its a stock 1.5 motor.

I have a 94 d16z6 from a si in my 90 civic wagon and I used the 94 intake and everything including injectors, tp sensor, and idle air control. I have a 90 injector resistor box and a 90 si computer running everything. it works just fine. I had heard from everyone that it probably wasn't compatible but i said screw it i'm trying it. i had to modify my injector plugs slightly but that was all.
I have all the parts for my swap except the dist. I just want to stay d series and only one cam. after this im going to start my turbo project. i hope it works out.
