slicks on GSR EG??
i have a 94 EG with a 2001 gsr swap. i ran a 9 flat in the 1/8 mile and want to break 8's. my buddy has some of the like 20 inch wide slicks i believe they are. i was wondering if anyone has used them on a similar set up and if the car boggs or not. also where u launched and how u feathered it. thanks guys

First off, Your buddy probably does have 20" slicks but, it's not there width it's there height. They are most likely 8" wide. Those will probably be the best slick to use for you application as well. if you want to get into the 8's that'd be the slick to do it on. The 22x8's also might not be a bad choice but, you'll have to launch higher. I've gotten 1.71 60's on the Mickey T 20x8's as well

my stock GsR in a 96Notch ran 9.20's on 20x14in slicks....it launched hard as hell but after second there was no traction,so i guess it depends on the track!

i ran my car at qualcomm with the slicks. yea i got confused. they are actually 14 wide. they worked pretty well actually. qualcomm is like the worst track in the world to hook up on so i launched really high with a slight bit of ease knowing there would be tire spin due to the **** track haha. didnt break an axel or anything, no bogging, just a broken alternator belt and gotta connect all my headlight wiring for the left headlight because they all got cut sumhow.... dont ask me how just somehow haha. thanks for the input. broke off an 8.9 with a reaction of 0.504 i was pretty happy. my 60 foot is still a 2.0 tho. anyone know y that is? when i had street tires it was like a 2.3

They weren't 14 inches wide either. Like hondaguyef said... most likely 8" wide. 14 should be the wheel diameter.
I've made several passes on slicks with my GSR hatch. Made about 3 on the steelies and probably close to 25 passes on slicks. Nothing broken yet. *NOW PRAYING THAT NOTHING BREAKS*
EDIT: What was your trap speed in the 1/8 with the 8.9 run?

damn only a 8.9 at the Q? i ran a 8.9 @ 81 with a stock B16 on old hard worn 22s there. also with a 2.5 60 due to all the damn water on the track.
go to barona, same setup, ran a 8.7 @ 83 there... STREET TIRES 2.1 60.
qualcomm sucks..... its an old parking lot, water on the track, and runs up hill. (good altitude though)
barona is an nhra sanctioned track.... sticky, flat, straight.
elevation is a little higher, but you'll still ring off better times.
im sure with the same slicks and practice you can hit a 8.5 at barona.
