Default 80 shot on mostly stock F23

Will a 80 shot work on a nearly stock F23A4? All that is done is bolt on, header, intake, exhaust, plugs, wires, etc..

Well, I learned the hard way. I didn't get your post until it was too late. I ran the 80 shot on my car for some little here and there moments and melted my plug on #2. Now the car runs like S**t. I changed the plugs and wires out since the plug that melted messed up the wire. So where do I go next? Rotor button? Cap? Its missin pretty bad, almost sounds like a WRX.

Do a compression check and see if you have good number across all 4 cylinders.

Why would that be a problem? And, what does that mean, meaning what am I checking for if the compression is off? Piston problems ?

You could've blown the rings. I've ran 50-75 shot and other than my plugs being a little black from being too rich I've never had a problem w/ my nitrous kit.

If my rings went, wouldn't there be noice associated with it or atleast some smoke ?

No noise, but smoke is possible. Doing a compression check will assure nothing else is broken or damaged.

i woudlnt think an 80 shot would have done much harm. what kinda of kit did you buy?
i mean, my understanding w/ a kit like, zex, its computer controlled and if your not getting enough gas an it runs lean, it'll shut off..and it adjust your timing.
am i wrong on this?

regardless..that sucks man.

but i am curious, what were your moments? like, how long were you on it? what were you doing?
elaborate a lil.

The kit was from my friend. It was one of those bottle in a bag kits. He ran it on his mostly stock Excort GT and sparyed the hell out of it and ran fine. It was a dry shot thru the intake and wasn't even a long shot, just here and there sprays. Still haven't done a compression test yet, not til thursday. Also, when I remove the plugs one at a time, all but one tries to stall when I remove it. When I pull the plug, there is absoluetly no change. When I pull the other wires off one at a time, the car wants to stall. Has to be a spark problem. Don't you think?

Oh and about the times I used it. I ran on I-95 runnin around 65-70 in 3rd and sprayed from like 70-90, didn't take long to get there, but that was about it. The bottle was full when I set it up and ended up only using about 10% of the bottle, so again, really didn't spray much at all. Kind of scared of the kit at first.

if it sounds like a wrx... its probably a headgasket problem.

anyways I ran a 75 shot for almost a year without problems... it was a shitty dry shot too.

You would want to only run a 75 shot and with that you better keep a close eye on it with proper tuning. 75 shot is max on the f22 motor and even then your only going to get a year or two at the extreme max with regular use. On the f22's if you want longevity is to go 50 shot.....

there you have it. you smoked your ring lands I will put money on it.

every time I toasted a stock piston my car sounded just like a WRX. get a compression test done, but I'm willing to bet your motor is el gonzo.

From his description I would have to agree with you on this.

yeah, I just talked to a honda head and head said I may have lost the cylinder. I sure hope not. I am going to do the compression test to see where it reads. That will help eliminate some things and let me know where to go from there. If thats the case, I hace a H22 swap lined up for $800 for engine, tranny and ecu. So I guess bad things happen for good reasons, atleast for Hondas that is.

Well, the bad news is here. I pulled my plugs today after replacing the cap and it showed no improvements. Well, when the plug was pulled for #2, there it was, oil on the plug. Looks like I have some fun coming up.

you should do a compression check to see how bad the damage is... although any is pretty bad in itself... sorry to hear.

WRX motor in a Accord would be nice though. LOL Anyhow, just means its time to upgrade. Anyone have some pistons and rods for sale??? I am trying to get a H22 swap from a dude for $800, includes tranny, ecu and motor. Can't go wrong with that. Not sure if I still want to do a compression test. I am sure the rings are gone and afraid that the piston may have got that little piece of spark plug and scored the cylinder wall. Will find out soon enough. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for all the replies guys.
