Default Should I brace this manifold, pics.

garrett t3/t04e on a BMCrace log manifold, downpipe has 8" flex section. The turbo (as you can see) is hung away from the block for wastegate reasons, so the weight is hanging farther away from the engine, should the manifold be braced against the block from below or is it ok?

you never brace a manifold anyways...that just adds weight...you brace TURBOS

if you're really concerned run a brace from the block to the turbo.

the manifolds bmc makes look pretty damn sturdy to me though so i wouldn't worry much about that end of things.

thanks, I appreciate the feedback, the manifold welds are really good, and it seems to be plenty strong, but I was a little concerned.

a brace wouldn't hurt. And it would put your mind at ease

i would trust a company like bmc to make a quality manifold, where you shouldnt need bracing. and with it being just a log mani, you shouldn't have any problems

cool thanx for the pics. i'm guessing you wanna brace the turbo because it might crack the manifold ?

just try standing on it if it doesn't break you should be good

jk..... i think it looks good man but it seams easy enough to make a brace and put it on for good measure

that pic above...what a nice brace that adds another meanings to just bracing the manifold now both manifold and turbo...good job...but your log manifold looks fine....304L steel less prone to crack....
