What type of aluminum are honda blocks?

i need to repair some stripped threads on my b18c, and was wondering what type of aluminum our blocks are made out of so i can get the right materials. any help would be great!!! thanks.

Pretty hard to find out EXACTLY what grade of aluminum its constructed of,... all i know is that its heat treated cast aluminum.

yeah i understand that it is heat treated, but i know that their is someone out there that knows the exact kind...

I am not sure, but i would guess that it is 6061. Dont quote me......

I would assume that it is Cast A356 aluminum heat treated to T6. That is what most cast aluminums are. 6061 is a grade of billet aluminum.

good question. i am going to drill out the helicoils in there that the previous owner of the motor crappily put in... then i am going to fill the holes with filler weld and bore, then tap back to stock thread size, and pitch.
