Default Need help, motor hesitates at vtec cross over

the motor is a jdm b16a, not 100% sure on the year as i bought the car already swapped. in any gear besides first when i hit 5600rpm's(vtec crossover) the car hesitates as if it hit redline or something. i dont normally shift high like that or anything i just happen to notice tonight when i was getting on it to merge into traffic. i drove threw it once and it felt like complete ***. it also seems to slightly hesitate before the crossover, nothing like when it hits it but it is noticeable so i know its coming. im hoping its something small like the distributor but im sure it could be 100 things. any help or suggestions would be great. thanks

Sounds like its leaning out. This was happening to me with my C5. Reset the ECU and try it.

check to see if you have any codes. if you have no codes pull the dizzy cap and check the rotor. ps you got a gsr with a b16? what is this world coming to?

I'm not too familiar with B-series vtec's, but D-series have filters before the spool valve. If the previous owner didn't check it every once in a while it may be clogged. Restricting the oil pressure to flow to it.
