Didja check out the link in the slot car post to the actual event? It's pretty messed up. I'm curious to know what exactly caused it.
Oh, and the obligatory "shame on them" for making fun of a serious accident. I laughed, but then looked at the pictures of the actual crash and felt bad about it.

A customer of ours was involved in that fiasco. He told us that over [Dr. Evil] ONE MILLION DOLLARS!![/Dr. Evil] worth of race cars were thrown away in that one incident.

That is why my wife gets so steamed about Vintage racing. It's about the only thing she *does* get passionate about when racing is involved. Strikes a chord with her b/c her dad's Jag (e-type V12) is one of those irreplacable cars that could be balled up without a moments hesitation. Except these guys do it all the time on purpose. (not wrecking on purpose. Racing on purpose)
