i just went to the tracks on the first wed. night drags. My best was a 14.3 with a AEM CAI and a ACT 6 PUCK clutch. Is that good or alright?

 

14.3 is good with an AEM...not sure how much the clutch helps though. As someone pointed out recently, 1/4 mile is done at a strip, road racing is done on a track...

 

yeah thats pretty good, my bets so far is a 14.6 with the mods in my sig, but i had only had the car for a couple of weeks, ihope next time i go i can do much better, but as many people will point out the R is not made for drag racing, try some auto-x, its more challenging, later

 

Seems pretty good. I bet the first time I run I'm going to hit 15+

still hard to believe ur getting 14.3 with just a aem cai and a clucth but i saw it with my own eyes...

my first time was 15.6, but i went to the track right after i bought the car so i didnt have much experience and pegged the rev limiter first and second, plus i went thru the water and lit my tires up all thru first . But then on my second run i got 15.0, so all it takes is pratice and experience.

 

not bad man , that is hella good time for that car.
and yes the clutch does help you alot. . . and even more if you had slicks .

 

not saying that the R isnt a home grown track car, but the R is better off for dragging than almost all other hondas.

How were you launching? Feathering or dumping?

 

My best time at Sac with the Comptech intake, and some Nitto NT-555R's was 14.3, current best is 13.7.

Should be out there again with a low budget setup, trying to get back into the 13's.

My best time was a 15.1 with the Comtech Ice Box and the DC Exhaust... Stock tires, full interrior...

I just need to make up my mind about what I want to do, header and cam wise... Hondata.... Sigh...

i was launching at 4000 (dumping it) and my 60 foot was 2.258

 

what do u guys launch at in your type r and what tires do u guys recomend for drag racing.

 

When i first ran down the Qmile i hit a 14.89 with a BONE stock with 178miles on it and then after a few runs my best was 14.73. Don't ask what my speed was cause i lost some of my tickets on the was home that day (had them in the sunvisor with the window open doing a buck on the hywy).

This coming Wed March 6th I'll be at E-town with my AEM CAI and my half-burnt tires and I'll see what the CAI does for the car.

 

What psi were the front and rear tires at, and what size and type of rubber?

 

i dont know the rear. i should of put more air into them so they roll better, but my front tires was set at 23 psi. How do u like the dc jdm headers. i was debating on those and the jdm typer header.

Had them set at 28 in the front- the stock size and then i had RE010s

this year i'll do the same but only with yokohamas A022s and aem cai
