Default timing belt?

i think today my family is just having a bad luck day i wish we never get this problem ever again.. it all started out by me going to put some gas at about 3:00pm so i can put gas an hour before i go to work.. As i'm on my way to the gas station.. i was thinkin damn the car don't feel right.. i was like damn maybe not again... cuz it felt the same way when the balljoint gave out.. and it snapped my axle in half.. so i pulled over to the side to notice that my driver side front tire is flat.. u can see the chords sticking out my tire.. okay done deal... i got ot work a lil late.. like 4:08pm.. no biggie... i get off at 11:18pm.. started up the car. didn;t let it warm up.. no point its already hot outside.. so i took off.. made a U-turn.. and then i shfited into 2nd.. next thing u know the car stalled.. i thought i shifted it into 4th and killed it by accident.. so i stop the car and tried restartting it.. it wouldn;t so i had it push to the side.. i tried the rollin start numerous time didn;t work.. my cd player works.. my headlight comes on.. i got horn... so its not the battery.. my relay works cuz when i left the car to the on position check light came on and off followed by a click sound..

then i got home.. told my parents.. they had my car pushed to the other side where the shop is.. so its parked outside a shop now...

but what do you guys think.. i brought the car in 4/13/05 i never done any tune up.. any major repairs was axle and lower bal joint and clutch master cylinder.. let me know guys thanks..

I am not sure about this but I thought all pre 1994 accords were non interference engines? If it is an interference engine you gotta pull the head off and redo the valve train to fix the damage done by the t-belt snapping

From what I understand, most Honda motors are interference design, can someone verify

mmmm let me get this straight he said u probably got bent valves??? did the verify that the timing belt broke??... they can do a leakage test to verify if valves are bent and by the way those engine should not bent valves when t-belts brakes i say shouldnt because i have done a bunch of them and never had bent valves as a result of broken t-belt ..........but 1 thing puzzles me shop said u got bent valves 1 or 2 causing the car to start ????? so did they replace t-belt already ??? if so have them do a compression test ........

My car used to install every now and then for no apparent reason. I did all tune-ups, spark plugs, oil change etc... on time, even got a new tranny. My car would just stall for no reason. Sometimes it will start after restarting it and sometimes it won't even start until a few hours after or the next dar, or like 1minute after. I took it to the shop and dealer and they couldn't figure what the hell was wrong with it. I even paid them $150 just for a damn check-up. Still, my car stalled. One day, it stalled and I just gaved up. I had the car towed to my friend's uncles house who is a mechanic and works on Porches, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Honda, and Volkswagen and his 17yr old son did a simple visual and physical test and it turned out to be the ignition switch was was bad. They gave me a new ignition switch for 100 bucks and my 99 Accord NEVER stalled anymore. I think there was a recall for cars 98-01 for that.

If your timing belt snapped, you probably would have heard some very bad sounding noises (your engine IS interference.) Before you go assuming the worst, check the simple things yourself. Does the car turn over? Pull a plug wire and check for spark. Is it getting fuel? With 120K that car should have already had the timing belt done (at 90k i think) so that more then likely isnt your problem.

i mentioned in my post that i got valve cover gasket, water pump, balance shaft belt and timing belt.. installed for approx. $475

car ran but it ran ruff.. car kept stalling.... when car is idle.. u can feel the whole car shaking..... the muffler clamp even came loose.. then i went to go put gas into the car.. it was on reserve light and filled it to half a tank.. before i got home it was amost empty in less than 5miles... i don't get it... u can smell the gas. really strong when u drive.. was never like this.. yes timing belt snapped.. i klnew it was that from the get go because of the way it was turning over.. it was turning over to quick...

hell i even had them check the timing belt b4 they went to anything else.. sure wwas the timing belt.. i got it sitting in the closet..

well anyways i'm out of luck.. oh well..

wow you were over charged and 2 they did not even get it right? There are red flags all over the place. They should have replaced the belt and then did a leak down test to check for damage. It could be that they are off on the timing by not properly installing the belt in the first place.
