Best way to remove self locking nut

Default Best way to remove self locking nut

Hi, i'm installing new springs and shocks and i can't seem to find an easy way to remove the self locking nut on top of the spring/shock assmebly. does anyone have tips on removing it?

Impact. If you can't do that get a big breaker bar and break it loose while it is still in the car.

retarded friend stripped the allen wrench part. i guess i'll try an get an an impact wrench off a friend and use vise grips on the stock shock.

yeah, vice grips if the dust boot isn't on... btw, try and wrap a rag around the shaft, you dont want it scratched
